Renaissance Ops Supports Bowen Homes Redevelopment in Atlanta, Georgia

Bowen Homes Redevelopment

Renaissance Ops is supporting the redevelopment of Bowen Homes Phase I, a major public-private housing investment in northwest Atlanta led by Atlanta Housing and its development partners.

Bowen Homes Phase I is a $63.6 million redevelopment project that will deliver 151 new residential units, the majority of which will be affordable housing. The project is the first phase of a broader revitalization plan for the former Bowen Homes site, which spans approximately 74 acres and has remained underutilized for decades.

Public-Private Partnership Framework

The Bowen Homes redevelopment is structured as a public-private partnership involving federal, state, and local stakeholders. The project is supported by a HUD Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant, along with funding and coordination from multiple public agencies and private development partners. This partnership model is intended to ensure long-term neighborhood stability, housing affordability, and responsible stewardship of public resources.

Project Scope and Community Outcomes

Phase I represents an initial step in a long-range redevelopment strategy that envisions the delivery of more than 2,000 mixed-income rental and ownership homes over time. In addition to housing, the broader plan includes infrastructure improvements, enhanced green space, and improved street connectivity to better integrate the site with surrounding neighborhoods and services.
